A glimmer of hope for summer fun shines on Huddersfield in the form of the UK’s first touring Film and Food Festival which is set to stop by on a leg of its 15-city tour.
Powered by Adventure Cinema, this unique event is set to take place in Huddersfield’s own Greenhead Park from 29th July to 1st August. Locals, families and friends alike, can expect four days of both classic and modern cinema, stand-up comedy, a wide selection of local street-food and a committed bar serving cocktails and craft beers.
The Festival will also showcase specially selected short films from film makers local to each region visited, opening audiences up to see new types of cinema whilst giving creators a major platform. A portion of profits from each ticket sold will go towards supporting local film organisations in each city.
The tour kicks off June 17th, 2021, with ticket prices varying depending on days. The festival will be held in spacious outdoor locations allowing people to be safely social, and measures will be in place to ensure the event is in accordance with government guidelines. Peace of mind is in place for ticket holders with a 100% money-back guarantee, if going forward the event cannot take place.
A press release stated that “Saturday and Sunday afternoons will be reserved for fantastic family films, with classics like The Lion King and The Goonies, and modern favourites like The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long, Onward and Doolittle.” Whilst “Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings will feature fantastic live comedy from some of the UK’s most exciting comedians, followed by blockbuster movies.” This includes classics such as Grease and Dirty Dancing as well as recent triumphs like Joker and JoJo Rabbit.
This cinema experience with its drive- in, dine-out feel could be the “ultimate summer stay-cation” and just the ticket for a stress-free weekend.
