After three months out of action, Huddersfield Town Women returned in style as they beat Stockport County 8-2 at the Stafflex Arena on Easter Sunday. The friendly was also successfully livestreamed online for the first time, allowing fans to watch the Terriers in action whilst staying at home.

A first-half hat trick from Laura Elford, a brace for Kate Mallin, and goals from Lucy Sowerby, Brittany Sanderson, and Emma Samways sealed yet another win for Jordan Wimpenny’s team, who had just celebrated his first year in charge in March. Stockport did get two goals back throughout the second half, however, these were merely conciliation goals as the Terriers ran riot.

Next week sees the return of the Women’s FA Cup as Huddersfield welcome local rivals Brighouse Town Women at the Stafflex. Fans should be able to tune into the livestream again with the game scheduled to play behind closed doors.  You can watch the match on the team’s YouTube channel.
