On the 12th of March I will be taking part in a fundraising event that highlights one of the many challenges that is facing the local community and the nation, homelessness.
The event I will be taking part in is ‘The Terriers Virtual Big Sleep Out’ run by the Huddersfield Town Foundation who are supporting the homeless charities within Kirklees to help tackle the issue and raise awareness.
The event, which normally has people camping out with just their sleeping bags at John Smith’s Stadium, will this year instead take place in the participants’ own back garden or any outdoor space within the proximity of their garden due to current restrictions.
In total the Foundation has managed to raise £130,000 over the last three years. Although this year will be different there are still hopes for community support.
You can find out more and sign up for the event here.
Come back soon to find out how it went!
