Huddersfield chemical manufacturing site Syngenta has announced the date of its annual warning siren test.
The site, which has operated for over 100 years, tests their public warning siren regularly but conducts a full volume test annually.
Syngenta have announced that the test date will be on Tuesday 27th April between 11:00 and 13:00. They have also sent letters to properties informing them of the test date along with documentation of what to do in the unlikely event that an incident occurs affecting people beyond the site’s boundary.
The site manufactures a wide range of premium brand crop protection products and is a well known name across Huddersfield. They have a well known reputation for supporting apprentices and recently won the award for ‘Best Apprenticeship Employer’ within the Yorkshire and Humber region. They are also keen to support the community through fundraising and donations, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic where they donated 1,000 hand sanitisers and 2,000 face masks to local volunteer groups.
