Stunning image from today’s ‘solar eclipse’

This image of a partial eclipse was sent to us by one of our readers Roger Kinder taken at around 11AM this morning.

Today’s event has been billed as an annular eclipse and was visible from much of the Northern Hemisphere, although the best place to view it was from The Arctic (just in case anyone reads Huddersfield Times in The Arctic).

The Huddersfield Astronomy Society held an event in Lockwood Park earlier today to mark the event and allow people to view the eclipse through their filtered telescope.
