Huddersfield Town Centre welcomed some fantastic entertainment this weekend as part of the ‘Super Saturday’ initiative.
Since 12th April, a number of local organisations have been working hard to encourage shoppers to return to our high streets through a range of initiatives.
As reported previously by Huddersfield Times, Kirklees Council have commissioned a number of marquees which are designed for people to be able to consume take-out food and beverages. The marquees have been well received by the public, with many taking to social media to praise Kirklees Council and Huddersfield Live (Who are managing the marquees) for their efforts.
The ‘Super Saturday’ initiative, which is a concept developed by Huddersfield BID, aims to bring a wide range of talented performers to the Town Centre to entertain shoppers and increase overall footfall. This week, children’s magician Spike Bonzo, singer Conor Joy and Bee Gees tribute ‘Team BGee’ were on hand to keep shoppers entertained – and they certainly didn’t disappoint.
Team BGee headed around the Town Centre to spread some joy to unsuspecting shoppers. In our video, which was provided by local resident Rob Thewlis, the trio performed the hit song ‘Stayin Alive’ on the steps to Huddersfield Library. His video which was posted to Facebook has been shared nearly 200 times.
