Ramadan Iftar fundraiser project helps NHS volunteers

By Danielle Boothroyd

Huddersfield-based Islamic charity Masjid Ghausia recently held a Ramadan Iftar fundraiser event, selling food packages with the profit donations going towards the costs of running its mosque.

The Trustees, management team and volunteers at Masjid Ghausia also contributed towards buying separate food packs, which were then donated to NHS staff and volunteer Covid-19 vaccinators at the John Smith’s stadium, as a way of saying thank you for all their efforts and hard work during the pandemic and throughout the vaccination programme.

The food was delivered by some of the newly elected Trustees; Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Sajjad, Azhar Hussain and Ahmad Raza, and the food was gratefully received by the busy staff.

This is a fantastic example of a supportive and inclusive community initiative. Well done to all involved.
