Police appealing for information following disorder

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an affray incident in Huddersfield.

Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who saw or has information about males fighting in the Halifax Old Road and Wasps Nest Road area of Huddersfield on Tuesday August 10.

Police received calls from around 6.15pm from residents reporting a group of males fighting, with suspects seen to flee the scene in a Vauxhall Astra.

Officers attended and found a man who had suffered minor injuries.  Following enquiries police attended at an address in Keldergate in Bradley later that evening. 

A man was arrested from the property on suspicion of public order offences and another arrested nearby on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Both remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Oliver Coates of Kirklees District CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate the affray incident in the Halifax Old Road area and I would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the fighting or saw a suspect flee the scene in the Vauxhall Astra.

“We have now recovered that car and are continuing to question two men arrested in connection with the incident.
