Police appeal after ‘fail-to-stop’ collision in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for information following a fail to stop collision in Huddersfield on Boxing Day.

Roads Policing Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw an incident in which a male pedestrian was seriously injured on the May Street junction with Park Road in Huddersfield on Sunday December 26.

Police say the incident happened at about 7.30pm after a male was struck by a car now believed to be a dark coloured BMW 1 series. The vehicle then hit a parked Suzuki Ignis before leaving the scene.

Officers believe the BMW had been travelling from the Lockwood area prior to the collision and headed towards Blackmoorfoot Road after it.

The BMW is believed to have sustained rear end damage in the incident which left the pedestrian with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Anyone who saw the collision, has dashcam or CCTV footage of what took place, or who saw the suspect vehicle fleeing the scene is asked to contact the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101 referencing police reference 13210666424.
