Mountain rescuers save 12 ducklings left to fend for themselves

Members of a Lindley community group and the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team found themselves with a unique challenge last night (Wednesday).

When a mother duck was tragically killed by a dog, twelve ducklings were left behind to fend for themselves.

The army of volunteers including three from Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team set about on a mission to rescue the isolated ducklings.

After obtaining equipment, they managed to save the ducklings which were then taken to Meltham Wildlife Rescue.

News of the rescue quickly spread on social media. Later, the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team posted:
