Local fundraiser Dave Kennedy set himself another gruelling challenge yesterday as he took on his ‘Triple Stadium Walk’.
Dave, who has previous featured on Huddersfield Times when he undertook a series of challenges to raise money for charity, set himself the challenge of walking from his home in Linthwaite to Bradford City’s Valley Parade stadium via the John Smith’s Stadium and Elland Road Stadium in Leeds.
He set himself this latest challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity MIND. Dave is a keen supporter of this charity, having suffered previously with his own mental health.
Dave told Huddersfield Times: “Mental illness is often overlooked, ignored, chastised, stigmatised & buried under the carpet. [We need] to work towards encouraging people who are struggling to talk and to remember that they are never, ever alone.”
This latest challenge, is part of a wider challenge that he set himself for the month of May. You can find out more about his fundraising activities and donate by visiting https://www.facebook.com/donate/791443828417125/
