Investigations continue after armed robbery at shop in Lockwood

Two men are wanted in connection with the robbery which occurred on Monday morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a shop in Huddersfield.

Kirklees District CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place at about 7.45am on Monday (24th Jan) at the Watan store on Victoria Road, Lockwood

Police say the incident occurred after two masked men entered the shop and threatened the storekeeper with bladed weapons.

The men took the store till with cash inside and fled. They were described as wearing balaclavas and gloves.

Detective Inspector James Bellhouse of Kirklees CID, said: “We are investigating this offence which left the victim shocked, but unharmed, and would like to speak with anyone who has information.

“The robbery took place on a busy road at a time of day when people would have been going to work and it is possible these men would have been seen either outside the shop after the crime or entering it just prior to the robbery.”
