Rain bar in the Town Centre has recently celebrated its 1st anniversary of opening.
Huddersfield’s only LGBTQ+ bar is hosting a one-off night with Popstars contestants The Cheeky Girls.
The exciting event, which is being held tomorrow (Sat 25th), will be hosted by resident act Charra Tea and will see The Cheeky Girls take to the stage. They will be supported by drag artists Dolls Nest, Echo, Maya, Mazikeen and Kiki Horsefield.

As well as hosting The Cheeky Girls, there are lots of other exciting things going on at Rain bar. These include an open talent competition on Sunday (26th), themed nights plus karaoke on the 1st and last Friday of each month.
Rain bar has recently celebrated its 1st year anniversary, after opening shortly after the initial lockdown last year. Despite the tough challenges facing all hospitality businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the bar is going from strength to strength. Rain prides itself on being an inclusive venue for all, and is a firm favourite across the LGBTQ+ community.
Speaking to Huddersfield Times, owner Gemma Priestley told us: “We’re on a mission to let everyone know that Rain is an inclusive bar for everyone. We have lots of exciting events coming up in the weeks and months that we hope will be a huge success. Thank you to all our customers over the last year who have supported Rain bar.”
Owner Gemma is has a unique sense of drive and determination – as well as owning Rain Bar, she also runs a vintage and re-worked clothing store called House of Hopp, which is part of The Independent Quarter in Kingsgate Shopping Centre.
