Huddersfield Care Home residents celebrate National Pizza Day

Residents at a care home near Holmfirth took part in a pizza-making workshop last week to celebrate National Pizza Day which was on 9th February. Residents from Greenacres Care Home in Meltham took part in the pizza-making activity which was donated by two Huddersfield companies – Delivita and Pennine Wealth Management.

Pizzaiolo master chef Marco Biasetti led residents through the moves, hand stretching bases and later topping off in the virtual cookery class which brought big smiles and many giggles from participants.

Jessica Skirrow, activity and lifestyle manager at Ideal Care Homes said: “We had so much fun taking part in the pizza making workshop and had so much fun making lots of delicious pizzas to enjoy for our evening meal. It was so fun creating pizzas from scratch and watching the video from Marco to follow, it felt like we were in a professional pizza kitchen! Thanks so much to everyone involved for such a successful event.”

The workshop was a huge success and was enjoyed by both residents and staff alike. There are plans to provide further hands-on workshops with further supplies for Delivita’s ‘Dough-To-Go’ range.
