Heavy Rain and Flooding in Huddersfield

Heavy rain across the region is leading to localised flooding in some areas.

Earlier today, the River Colne at Aspley looked set to break its banks whilst over in Slaithwaite, large volumes of water collecting on roads affecting motorists along the route.

There are also problems across public transport – At around 4PM this afternoon, Network Rail issued a ‘Not To Travel’ notice unless it was absolutely necessary due to the severe weather causing flooding on multiple lines across the region.

There are a number of flood alerts in our area and nearly towns such as Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge and Mirfield are expecting more problems later on today and tomorrow as the deluge of heavy rain continues.
