Cabaret double-act Frisky & Mannish have revealed their latest project, “Pop-Corn” – a musical comedy extravaganza celebrating classic films, in collaboration with the Lawrence Batley Theatre.
The show runs from 1st -14th November. This ambitious project is a “part-movie, part-live show, part-parody, part-love letter to cinema”, streamed digitally by the Lawrence Batley and Superla.tv.
The live portion of the show will be filmed at the Huddersfield theatre, and ticket holders can stream it as many times as they like within a 48-hour window.
F&M developed the show during lockdown, “for our sanity as well as your entertainment.” – It features sketches, new characters, and visual effects, centred around the theme of their favourite movies.
The duo have had a series of sold-out runs at the Edinburgh festival, and attract rave reviews from national newspapers.
Their act has taken them to stages around the world, and they have appeared on BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6music, as well as BBC2 and BBC3 TV channels.
Standard tickets are £15 and available here: https://thelbt.org/what-s-on/comedy/frisky-mannish-popcorn/.
