A huge new reggae festival is coming to Huddersfield this August.
The Sun Up Music Festival will take place across the weekend of the 14th and 15th August 2021. The two-day event will see a line-up of legendary artists, DJ’s and dancers take to the stage as well as local food and beverage stalls for visitors.
Among those performing include Big Mountain, Sister Nancy and Aswad.
Huddersfield Times spoke to organiser Romain Peterkin about the upcoming event. He told us “We are so excited to bring the very first Sun Up Music Festival to Huddersfield. As reggae and dancehall lovers, we want to share the joy these genres of music bring, particularly after this very difficult year.”
“It’s a day out for the whole family and features a line-up of really exciting up-and-comers alongside legends of Jamaican culture. We’re also be offering cocktail tents and food stalls so you can come and make a day out of the festival – right on Huddersfield’s doorstep.”
The event, which is produced by VIP Productions LTD, will be held in Birkby and tickets have already gone on sale. Early bird tickets are priced at £35 per day or £50 for access to both days. The organisers are also working hard to ensure that the event will be Covid-safe to comply with current Covid-19 guidelines at the time.
