Colne Valley Group Practice moves to new home

Patients registered with a Slaithwaite GP practice are now benefitting from improved primary care facilities after their practice moved to new premises.

Croft House Surgery, part of Colne Valley Group Practice, has relocated 0.2 miles from a former mill owner’s home to the new development at Globe Mills, in the centre of Slaithwaite village.

The move follows a public consultation and involvement process which involved patients at every step of the journey.

The new site is all at ground level, creating better access for patients and includes more consulting rooms, a spacious waiting area enhancing peoples’ privacy and confidentiality, an on-site pharmacy, and a larger car park.

Kirsty Hull, Practice Manager for the Colne Valley Group Practice said: “We’re very happy with our new space and the benefits it provides for both our patients and staff.  We have had some fantastic feedback from patients.

“Patients told us during the consultation process that they wanted the space to have private conversations with practice staff, and our larger waiting room has provided that space.

“The waiting area has also made social distancing easier for our patients while they’re waiting for their appointment.”

The move was supported by the NHS in Kirklees. The surgery was opened on 24 May 2021 and the practice hopes to have a formal opening once COVID restrictions are eased.

Dr Khalid Naeem, Clinical Chair for Kirklees CCG said: “It’s great to see the plans for Colne Valley Group Practice become a reality. This development will be of great benefit to patients that use this practice. I know the team have put a lot of time into creating the right space where they can provide services that meet patients’ needs today and, in the future, and create a better working environment for staff.”

Patients registered with Colne Valley Group practice can access both The Globe and Marsden Health Centre.
