CCTV images released following burglary at Town Centre store

A number of high value mobile phones were taken during the burglary.

Detectives have released CCTV images have been released following a burglary at a shop in Huddersfield. 

Police say the incident occurred on 21st December 2021 at around 4:30am, when it is reported that two suspects have approached the CEX store in New Street, before gaining entry to the store by smashing the glass of the front window with a rock and climbing in. 

Upon entry, it is reported the pair took a number of high value mobile phones, before leaving the store and making off on what is believed to be an electric bike and scooter., travelling away from the town centre.

One suspect is described as wearing a dark coloured jacket with a distinctive logo on the rear, the jacket is dark in colour but shows up lighter under the stores infrared lighting. The suspects are believed to be local to the Huddersfield area. 

Despite this incident occurring over a month ago, the CCTV images have been issued in a bid to identify the individuals, who may be able to assist with enquiries.

Detective Constable Christopher Eglen of Huddersfield District Crime Team, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may recognise the jacket, have information to assist with identifying the suspect or know the current location of the stolen mobile phones is asked to contact myself at Huddersfield CID via 101 quoting crime reference number 13210657626. Alternatively, you can contact Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111″.
