Two of the big Huddersfield operators have launched a £1 evening flat fare on bus journeys.
As we all look forward to being able to ‘get out and about’, bus operators across Huddersfield are helping to make our journeys even better by offering a discount fare for evening journeys.
Two of the main bus operators within Huddersfield are currently offering the discounted fare – and its hoped others will ‘jump on board’ soon.
Transdev, who owns Team Pennine launched their £1 deal earlier this year. The bargain flat fare for any single journey after 7PM was launched by the bus firm across its network in Yorkshire and extending into Lancashire and Greater Manchester in June, as part of a package of measures designed to encourage more people to get out and about across the region.
They have now announced that the discounted fare will run until the end of 2021.
Transdev Commercial Director Paul Turner said: “We originally planned to offer the £1 evening fare until the end of September, and as it’s clearly helping to attract more people to return to the bus with all the benefits that brings to leisure-based businesses, we’ve decided to extend it through until the end of December.”
First West Yorkshire have also launched their £1 flat fare deal. Speaking to Huddersfield Times,
John Godfrey, Head of Marketing for First West Yorkshire, said: “Everyone is eager to return to the leisure and social activities we’ve all missed and this special fare makes it even easier to enjoy a night out. Our regular customers are welcoming it and for others it’s a great value way to discover how the bus is a hassle-free and simple way to head in town for the evening.”
“Hospitality is an important sector in Huddersfield’s recovery and we want to play our role in helping the town come back stronger by local people getting out, getting involved and getting to do the things they enjoy.”
