Beast from the East

  • 100 ml vodka
  • 50ml peach schnapps  
  • 25ml triple sec (Cointreau or Grand Marnier will also work well)  
  • 25ml lemon juice (from a bottle is fine)  
  • Sparkly water  
  • 2 cocktail cherries (optional) 

Put the cherries into a small but classy glass – I’ve used a martini glass. Put loads of ice into a cocktail shaker. If you don’t have one, a glass jar (with a lid) will do. Add the vodka, schnapps, triple sec and lemon juice and shake enthusiastically until nice and cold. Pour through a strainer onto the cherries and top up to taste with sparkling water. Sip slowly whilst gazing at the freezing weather from a warm, cosy room.
