24 Year Old man seriously assaulted by five attackers in Brackenhall incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Huddersfield.

Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who saw or has information about the incident which took place on Belle Vue Crescent in Bracken Hall during the evening of Monday January 10.

Police say the incident took place at about 7.43pm after a 24-year-old man was chased into a household garden by a group of males and then seriously assaulted.

He received non -life threatening stab injuries in the attack and was treated in hospital.  

The five attackers who fled the scene, were described as wearing white and dark tops with hoods up and were possibly in their teens.

Detective Inspector James Bellhouse, of Kirklees District CID, said: “We are investigating this section 18 assault, which could clearly have resulted in the victim suffering life threateing injuries,  and are appealing for witnesses to what took place.

“Anyone in the Belle Vue Crescent area who saw the assault, the victim being chased, or the suspects running off, or who has mobile phone or CCTV footage is asked to contact Kirklees CID on 101.  Information can also be given online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat or anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
